Jake felt like a he had been hit by a train. All air was taken from his lungs and his eyes clouded over. He blacked out for a second but then a fire started up inside of him and he just wanted to punch something. A million questions flooded into his mind. “What happen? Who was looking after her?”

Suki stood her ground and smiled calmly at him. “Sit down and I’ll explain” He reluctantly sat back down and she continued. “She was being looked after by George, like you asked him to. But as hard as he tried to cheer her up all she wanted to do was see you. School was getting worse and she…killed herself. I’m so sorry.”

Jake’s anger flushed from him and left him emotionally wasted. He slumped back in his chair and covered his face with his hands. He just let the tears fall. He tried to pull himself together but on the inside he was falling apart. No one would understand how much this broke Jakes heart.

Suki hated seeing Jake like this. “Jake you’ve got to use this grief, take it and win these games. Do it for her. Harness this anger and use it to your advantage.

Jake drifted off towards the chair across from Suki, his mind in a blur. His mind went crazy when she mentioned his sister. “What about her?” He nearly screamed at her, while jumping up from his chair. “Did you talk to her is she okay?”

Suki looked down towards the floor. It was so hard for her to tell him, but she had to. She ignored his questions and pushed him back into his chair. “She died this morning” She said whilst looking into his eye. She saw them turn glassy and all joy was drained from them.

Jake’s mind wandered as he looked up at the ceiling. He thought of the happy times he’d had back in District 9. He smiled at the memories and wondered how his sister was going. He closed his eyes for a second but was woken up by a tap at his door. He jumped up, wondering who would come and see him at this time. He smiled as he saw Suki but immediately knew something was wrong. “What is it?”

Suki walked straight into their room and sat down on the edge of a small silver armchair. “I suggest you sit down for this” She said and Jake sat on a chair opposite her. “I just got news from your District. It’s about your sister.”

Suki got off the phone, sat down on the bed and held her head in her hands. She was going to have to tell him some day and she decided the sooner the better. So Suki got up and traveled to the district 9 room. She went straight there without stopping to talk to anyone. Once there she tapped twice on the door. The door opened and she looked into Jakes happy and unknowing eyes. “I need to talk to you.”
